What do you know about the water cycle?

Today we are starting an investigation into the water cycle.  Most of us haven't got a clue what this is about. So we're going to think about a few things...

Where does the water go when it rains?
  • into the drains (Lucy)
  • into the sea (Cameron)
  • gets washed and is reused (Keshav)
  • roots pick the water up and so do the leaves on plants (Emma)
  • it can be collected in a cup (Sam)
  • drips off an umbrella or roof (Niall)
  • falls onto the ground and the wind pushes it to the drain (Behzad)
  • drips into your mouth (Luke)
  • makes puddles on the street (Christine)
  • falls into a water tank (Josh)

Where does all the water that is up in the sky come from?
  • from the clouds (Ethan)
  • from the sea - evaporates (Steven)
  • the wind is really cold and turns into water (Kaitlyn)
  • rain comes from the clouds (Meah)
  • when the clouds melt (Terence)
  • it evaporates from the ocean in teeny tiny drops which become big again and it rains (Alisha)

We've got lots to learn!
