TOPIC: MORSE CODE!!!!!!!!

We have been learning about communication. There was an activity called the morse code.It was an exciting thing to do and we had lots of fun.We had a beater and the key of a xylophone. We each had a key and a beater. Our knowledge has improved, we now know how to play our name in morse code.

We are very interested in morse code because it has lots of cool things we can do with it,it was quite difficult because you get confused with the letters and words, also, it is hard to remember
what you have to do.

It was hard to remember play your name in morse code!Sam has found it very easy to do the morse code because
1. he could play the drums very well so he knew the beat
2.he has a short name

It was was a AWESOME experience!
We hope we can do it again!

TXT MSGS

In room 30 4 topic we have been learning about txt msgs and how to shorten the words when you text a friend or someone. Text language was invented to make texting quicker and children are not aloud to use it in school and exams .

Here are some examples that our class wrote

the year sixes come back from camp

last Friday the year sixes came back from camp i have heard that when you
go to camp you have some jobs the ones that I know of are the dishes
and worst of all toilets. Even though you have to clean the toilets I am sure that it will be lots of FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!

Telephones

In room 30 Emma and Meah have been using olden day phones. First we used dial phones, then we used push button phones. The dial phones we put are finger in a hole then we swang our finger around to the  metal bar. push button phones are when you have a screen  and you have buttons to push.We had to do  a venn diagram to see what differences for phones and whats the same. We used it so much to se what  we could find out whats the same and what aren't. We had to write at least 5 differences and 5 the same but we got only like 5 on differences and 3 same.Olden phones are interesting and different

COMMUNICATION CHALLENGE

COMMUNICATION CHALLENGE

Last week we did a communication challenge so we got use the Type writers to communicate or write words.  It was really hard because we had to press really hard so that the ink could come out.You could use different colours of ink such as Red,Black,Grey. It was really challenging for us to activate the Red colour or the Black because the Type writers were old and slow.We had no idea
how to  use the Type writers but we managed to do it. I wrote the worlds longest word in English I think this is how you spell it Pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis I just managed to write it in time.

I think it was a great experience using the Type writers

Does the Water cycle go round and round?

Q: how does the water cycle work? can it go left to right?
Answer: yes it can. The water cycles go round in a circle it goes up then down and goes on and on

this is the water cycle
There are 3 stages in the water cycle.  These stages are evaporation/ condensation/ precipitation/
all off these make up the water cycle.

the way it goes is evaporation first. Evaporation is when tiny little drops (that you can not see) rise up from oceans/lakes/plants and streams. When the tiny little drops rise up in the sky it turns into condensation

Condensation is when those tiny little drops in the sky turn into clouds they get bigger and bigger then its called precipitation

Precipitation is when the clouds get too big and the clouds into big black clouds. the little drops then fall down to the ground.
Then it rains from the clouds that evaporated, this could cause lightning, thunder or a storm.
As the drops falls down to the ground it then turns into surface run off which means the water runs off mountains and into the streams, lakes or rivers. then the water gets evaporated again.

This is called the water cycle.

our classes made this 3-dimensional water cycle

our trip to lake pupuke

On Wednesday 27Th February our class went to lake pupuke, the first we did was our classroom lined up outside and said 'goodbye room 29'then as fast as lightning KA-POW we were waiting at the bus stop and then 10 seconds later the bus came then our teacher counted us as we went inside to see if someone went missing!!(Don Don Don) once I got in I sat next to Luke. Luke and I talked and talked until we got to the lake (AKA lake pupuke) so when we arrived there was half silence I think everybody was half exited and half scared half, n, half .Once we got out we had to sit on the hard grass, luckily we brought shoes because Everybody thought there were prickles but then most of us knew that there were no prickles then we got changed into are swimming gear that took a while once we got changed we were first to do rafting are instructor was their first so she told us what to do we had to build rafts out of wood and ropes and tyres she told us what to do with the ropes and everything then we got started our shaped like a triangle others were to but one of them was a square once we got in the raft we sank strait away it wasn’t cool. At least are raft didn’t fall apart. It was fun everybody was screaming and laughing at the same time. After that we had to get out because the next class was coming to do the same thing so we had to break everything apart. I wish I could do this again tomorrow or the day after that.
Thank you for reading
