the holidays

In the holiday I'm go to my room to play on my drum set. I will move house. we will be moving a little amount of stuff across to the house. we mitt be getting the key   today at 2o'clock.

RAIN RAIN RAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Its been raining for 3 DAYS IN A ROW!!!  Is verrrrrrrrryyyyyyyyy boring because we CANT even play soccer boohoohoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Also i must stay inside but I can have a LOT of hot chocolate part.

Sketching

On Wednesday 24 March we made our sketching of us do a action. First we needed to outline us of dong a action then we added our eyes mouth head and all of our body parts. Next we added our cloths we could not use outlining all the time so we had use all  of the sketching techniques it was very challenging for us. After the outlining and sketching we added shading it is a bit like coloring in but it's just with a sketch pencil. Finally we got to see whats the difference between our sketching of us in action or our real picture most of the people went in the competition after we finished our sketching it was competition about the most sketching techniques in the picture of us doing a action it took Mr. Williams quite a while to decide but  Hillary won the competition and all of us agreed because it was really good.

Why take the car when you can walk to school

When I am running late i could just take the car its faster then walking to school.
id rather take the car when i am felling tired.

but  if you go to bed early the night before and get ready for school early in the morning then you are not running late and not feeling tired, So you can walk to school on the walking school bus,isn't that awesome,although It will get you fit,and really make you (the reader) meet new friends

Went to the park.It was lots of fun! there was this thing that spun around.I got reeeeeeelllllyyyyy dizzy! Then... I went on his keyboard Again.Then we had home-made burger then I went home.i had a very very VERY GOOD TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On Tuesday Sam came over to my house at round about 1:00pm. Once i saw him he had massive donuts. His mum and his sister came but the rest of his family probably couldn't come.
First we went strait up stairs to listen to some music on my mp3 player. Then i showed him my tablet and then i said Let's go downstairs to eat some Donuts! After we ate some delicious donuts we watched TV and then Lynette's program came on. So then Sam and I went up stairs and listened to more music and Sam said "this is totally awesome!"and after we heard all the songs and then went to the play ground. I brought my soccer ball and Lynette brought her bike. I didn't really play with my ball, i mostly played with this spinning thing that has ropes around it. The funnest thing about it is it makes you dizzy. Once i went so fast that i couldn't stand or walk.


After we had so much fun i thought time went so fast because it was almost time for Sam to go home so when we walked home Sam rode on Lynette's bike it was really funny then when we got home my sister robin made us delicious sandwithes about 2-5 minutes later Nana came over we thought it was Sam's mum.
After the Delicious food Sam's mum came over then i said 'quickly in my room but mum stoped us strait away and then Sam's mum came and it was time for Sam to go i said 'goodbye' and Sam said the same then he left

the water cycle

Room 30 made a water cycle on our classroom wall we used different materials. We each had different jobs I got the job of making the dark cloud and the normal clouds I used the cotton wool it was soft like a pillow. The dark cloud was a bit hard we glued it on black paper but it wouldn't stay so we had to put more glue and then cut it out. We were too busy the room went crazy! When the office told us to collect our notices Miss L was the one that t went and got it I wonder what the offices said when they saw Miss L anyway the clouds went good it was fun Mr William help us staple the different parts of the water cycle and helped us get out paint and PVA glue Miss L did too. Mr Williams did a very good job he gave us suggestions as well it turned out to be amazing. I thought it looked not good but brilliant. The labels and arrows showing how the water cycle worked was in a circle of cause. I was so proud of our work I could look at it the whole time. I wish we could do something like that another time it was the best fun!

Room 30 made a 3D water cycle. Since we were learning about the water cycle we decided to make one. We had to go into groups.Each group does something on the water cycle, for example, one group will make the clouds and one group making the river

Now it is finished and we are very proud of it now. It didn't take a long time doing it because we work really fast.We are learning a lot about  the water cycle now. We hope we can do more about the water cycle in the future.

The last few weeks room 30 has been learning about the water cycle, We decided to make a big water cycle on the wall we talked about who was doing witch thing. Me and Josh did the sun. We first  got a yellow peace of paper and traced around the recycling bin lid. Next we cut around the pencil marks then we got cellophane and glued it on the  top for the sun with the left over bits of cellophane use them to make rays for the sun.

Evaporation:
Evaporation is when water turns into water vapor
and is heated by the sun.
It travels upward.

Condensation:
Condensation is when the gas turns into water
droplets because there is no heat.
The water droplets come together and forms
clouds.

Precipitation:
Precipitation is when it rains because the clouds
get heavy with water droplets.
Precipitation can also be snow and hail.

Collection:
Collection is when the rain comes down and
goes back into the ocean and the lake.
The water also goes into ponds.

The day the key went missing!



One day Rm 30 went to music. Everything was going great then when miss Allen was looking for her keys  she rilised she had lost them !Then she sent me to look for them.She told me that I should look in the staff room but they weren't there!she was shocked. Then she sent me to look in the hall It was not there !I thought someone had stol them but I keeped searching.So I went to miss Allen .She prang the whole class on the the hunt.We went to mr Pareanga. He did not know where the key's are. So we went back to the music room .But the man in the came in and he has found the key's! then we carried on with music.there is a lesson in this for all of us . So remember that when your lost you are always found! 

V8 supercar championship by Niall

This weekend my dad is taking me to pukukoe race circuit in west auckland and it's Australia's  legendary series. I am supporting Red bull racing because they have the series leaders called jamie whincup and crag lowndes hopefully they will be on pole position on the front row i have been to pukukoe before to watch my uncle race because he used to be a race car driver but sadly he moved to parramata in Australia 2 year ago hope seeing everyone there.

Room 30 have been learning about different ways of drawings. The first thing we learnt about is sketching. We learnt the different ways first.

In our books we had to draw the ways and then label them. We learnt about: crosshatching, tone,  shading,smudging, feathered lines and outlining. After we had learnt them, we had to draw a funny face using all the ways to sketch then the next day, we drew ourselves doing a pose using all the ways to sketch. Then we learnt about non-stop drawing.

Fishing magazine big fish

Yesterday I went fishing and got in the fishing magazine.  It was a forty four cm snapper.  I've been waiting for this chance for five weeks. I caught it at the great barrier island coast. I used a surf caster. I saw a hammer head. It was a extreme fight.  Niall

EVAPORATION IN A SAUCER

Today we learn't about evaporation in a saucer. We poured water into three saucers.One was outside

one was on the table and one in the cupboard.
1 hour past and the water in the cupboard and no water was gone but it was cold the one on the table had a little bit of water had evaporated the one out side had a quarter of the water was gone then we filled in are sheet of what had happened to the water.

hour 2 we  check them we check the one in the cupboard still nothing had happened the one the table had some water gone the one outside was nearly out of water.

hour 3 we check the one in the cupboard the water  was there still the one the table had evaporated tiny bit the one in the cupboard still like it was the one outside all the water was gone we went in side and filled the the rest of are sheet and we wrote what happend to the water when we had filled everything in we glued the sheet in to are topic book we were done.

Evaporation in a saucer!

First you need

* 3 saucers

* A jug of water

*A measuring jug

         
Now you need to pour  the same amount of water in each saucer.
Keep one saucer in the sun
keep one saucer in the cupboard
and keep one on a table.Then you wait an hour then you see how it has changed.You write how it has changed.Then you see it in an hour and if it has changed .You need to write down if it has done anything.This the last check to see if all the water Evaporated.The one that Evaporated the most wins!

Our Water Cycle by Christine

Room30 are learning about the water cycle. We have been learning about evaporation, where the rain comes from and why does it rain? We discovered that the rain is from water that has evaporated from water all around with heat. We did a experiment about evaporation. We did some worksheets about the water cycle. We did a lot of experiment about the water cycle and now we seem like water cycle interesting.

technology!

At technology we were making rat traps to save the kiwis.  The first thing we had to do was to saw three pieces of wood and then we had to sand them so they are not too rough.  We glued the wood together as a u shape.  We flipped it over and Mr Rankin made holes with a drill on the four corners.

Then we placed the screws in the holes that Mr Rankin drilled for us then we screwed them in.

Next we sawed a piece of for the roof, glued only one side and drilled and screwed it again.

Last  week   we  went  to   the    technology   class.   We   made     a   rat   trap.

First  we  measured   the   wood.

After   measuring   we   sawed the wood into three pieces.  After sawing the wood we made a box without the roof on it. We  glued  the    wood and used a staple that was like a nail to hold it together.  We cut one piece of wood, measured it and glued it to make a roof.  We put some wire mesh on one end.  We  used the tickle machine to straighten it so that it would not have any splinters.

Technology

On Wednesday & Thursday we went to Technology and it was extraordinary.First Mr.Rankin told us what we are going to build and it turned out to be rat traps .Next he showed us an example how it will

look like when we will have completed our own one next he showed us the techniques to saw then we got into our groups of 3 and then stared sawing and it was tiring Then he showed us the second step of making a rat trap and it was sanding and gluing.

Finally we got to do it and it was the easiest step of making a rat trap for my group sooner we did sawed more piece of wood for the top and finally it was finished.
